Research interests:
European (art) music and cultural history from the 17th to the 20th century; music and politics; music and the Enlightenment; methods of music historiography (discourse history, myths of origin, problem history, criteria of analysis); instrumental music (with emphasis on symphonic, "clavier" and chamber music), relations to vocal music (with emphasis on opera and cantata; church music/liturgical music).
