Cataloguing the Edith Gerson-Kiwi Collection

Project: Cataloguing the Edith Gerson-Kiwi Collection

Project duration:
1 March 2019 – 31 March 2022

The aim of the project is to create an accurate and detailed catalogue of our holdings of the Edith Gerson-Kiwi Estate, to enable a variety of important academic and non-academic projects in Jewish history and culture and Jewish Music Studies. The Gerson-Kiwi Estate is an extensive collection of about 65 linear feet located at the European Center for Jewish Music (EZJM). Edith Gerson-Kiwi (1908-1992) was one of the leading figures in Musicology in Israel, who fled from Nazi Germany in 1933, emigrated to Jerusalem in 1935, and conducted research and taught music until the 1980s.
